Not only does the lighthouse boast breathtaking views, but it is steeped in history and stories. Our favourite being the lighthouse was used as a meeting place for witches covens and prior to that it used to be a Roman Fort.
Portmahomack is just off the route of the North Coast 500. You can explore parts of the route or stop off on a detour in your way round the whole route. It's no wonder it's so famous for visitors when it involves castles, beaches and fantastic views
